Waris Shah on Mullah (7)

Of Dhido lashing at the mullah again:

‘In the house of God you let out farts,

and vaunt of it, devoid of shame;

‘And full of sloth , like cripples and lepers,

you throw the dice of life and death.

‘You smell the pudding and taste of carrion,

and kill the living with pious breath.

‘You shelter under the mask of law

the wicked, steeped in sin and crime.

‘Then when in the small hours of the night,

hunger wakes you up, you crow for prayer,

‘And all impatient with the lodgers

overnight, you drive them out of here.

باس حلویاں دی خبر مردیاں دی ، نال دعائیں دے جیوندے مار دے ہو
انھے کوڑھیاں لولیاں وانگ بیٹھے قرعہ مرن جمان دا مار دے ہو
شرع چا سرپوش بنایا جے ، روادار وڈھے گنہگار دے ہو
وارث شاہ مسافراں آئیاں نوں چلو چل ہی پئے پکار دے ہو

مشکل لفظاں دے معنے

قرعہ مارنا۔ دانہ سٹ کے پرچی کڈھ کے کسے دی واری دا دسنا، جیویں سکہ سٹ کے واری متھی جاندی ہے۔
جمان۔ ایس دا مطلب موت یا موت دا فرشتہ (جم دوت) وی ہو سکدا ہے تے ایتھے ایس دا مطلب پیدا ہونا وی کڈھیا جا سکدا ہے۔
سرپوش۔ سر نوں ڈھکن والا کپڑا پر سرپوش عام طورتے کھانے نوں اتوں ڈھکن والے کپڑے نوں کہیا جاندا ہے
روادار۔ حق دار
